FREEZER MEAL WORKSHOP FAQ
I want to host a Freezer Meal Workshop at my house. What do I need to do?
Contact me to set a date! I am available weekday evenings and weekend afternoons/evenings. Workshops are 3 hours (or less) plus ½ hr on either end for set-up/clean-up.
Evening workshops run 6:30-9:30pm. Afternoon workshops run 2:00-5:00pm.
How many people do I need?
Workshop minimum is 6 (including you.)
Gather 8 participants (including you) and YOU get $100 off your personal workshop fee!
There is no max number of participants; it just depends on your space.
I don’t have much space; can I still host a workshop?
I bring everything we need for the workshops. We can assemble the meals in a dining room, living room or kitchen, depending on your set up. My ingredients come in coolers packed with ice so no refrigeration is required. We do need use of a sink and hot water. Let me know and I can also bring an extra fold-able table if needed.
What do we do at the workshop?
At the workshop we will be assembling our meals as a group as we go through each recipe. I bring everything we need including zip top bags, cutting boards, bowls, gloves etc. The meat has all been portioned and all the ingredients have been sliced/chopped/diced for you. Everyone will take home the recipes and labels along with your Freezer Meal Packs.
What do we need to bring?
Each participant should bring an apron, a hair tie for long hair, a dish towel and a cooler with ice packs. A typical workshop will give you 10 flat 2” Freezer Packs (so you know what size cooler to bring!) Check with your host about bringing drinks or snacks! Wine and other adult beverages are fine by me.
How much is the workshop? How do we pay?
10 Meals for 4 – $200
10 Meals for 6 – $280
Payment is made through PayPal Invoices in advance of the workshop date. I also accept Email Money Transfers to email@example.com. Payment for all workshops is due upon invoicing and no later than 7 days before the workshop date.
But I have more than 6 people in my family. Can I increase the number of servings?
Yes! Each additional serving is $40.
There are less than 4 people in my family. Can you “split” the meals into 2’s?
Yes! I charge an additional $20 to split your meals (you would end up with 20 meals for 2,) but you have to do a little math at the workshop 😉
My family has dietary sensitivities or allergies. Can you accommodate me?
Usually yes. I can accommodate gluten free, nut/seed allergies, dairy allergies, or no pork/beef at no extra cost. Please let me know about any allergies in advance of the workshop. I am not Celiac Certified, not recommended for participants with Celiac Disease.
I have children; can they be at the workshop?
Because we are working with raw food ingredients, please do not bring your children to the workshop. If you are hosting a workshop and you have children, it’s best to make sure someone else is available to them during the workshop.
What will we be making? Can I choose the menu?
I have over 40 menu items to choose from! Please contact me for current menu options.
How far will you travel?
I live in Cloverdale, BC. I will travel within 20km of my home with no fee. Additional km are billed at $0.40/km, return.
What if I need to cancel my workshop? What if my friend pays and then can’t make it?
Cancellation or change of your workshop date must be made 14 days or more in advance of your workshop.
Due to the preparation costs associated with these programs I am unable to offer refunds for participants with less than 14 days written notice. In the event that your friend is unable to attend your workshop with shorter notice, they may send someone else to make the meals for them, or others at the workshop can work together to assemble the meals for them.
